As a young adult, straight out of college, I found myself living in Hawaii and searching for ways to meet people. My husband started his CrossFit journey first, but I was reluctant to follow suit. He would come home every day and tell of the great people and environment that CrossFit had to offer. After a month or so of listening to him, I finally decided to give it a try. Despite having played pretty much every sport offered in my small town growing up and weightlifting throughout college, I was intimidated to join. However, what I appreciate most about the sport is it’s inviting community. Having moved three times in three years, it’s refreshing to know that there will always be a box and its members awaiting to warmly welcome newcomers.
With three years of Human Resources experience, I was looking to build upon my resume and expand my work experience while living in Okinawa into other areas of business. I can’t think of a better way to accomplish this than by being the Manager here at Habu. In the brief time I have been on island, the members, coaches, and staff here at Habu have become like family and I am excited to continue my journey.
